AXIS Messenger Bag.

The AXIS messenger bag was designed, constructed, and patterned by hand.

Bold geometric paneling and contrast materials highlight the durable exterior. Made from Cordura and X-Pac, the outside shell is built to withstand outdoor elements and the wear and tear of city life. Using techniques usually done in quilting, the diamond patchwork design combines an artistic approach to utilitarian design. A unique Clear X-Pac provides a window to an equally artistic interior. Using traditional shibori techniques to indigo dye a thick, durable canvas the interior has a unique abstraction. The bag is full of everyday features and pockets. The AXIS bag has 4 pockets with YKK zippers, buckles and Velcro to fasten the flap and a built-in computer sleeve. The strap is made from a repurposed Arc’teryx belt that allows adjustability. Inside each of the 4 zipper pockets there is a different pattern and technique used to dye the fabric. Combining the rugged materials and hardware with handcrafting techniques makes the AXIS bag a very usable art piece.
